Florence Welch is ready to join the Yellow Jackets. Proud, singer Florence and the Machine herself teased her contribution to the second season of the Showtime series.
The Yellowjackets heroines will be back soon, and a few notes have sparked fans’ impatience to find them. We owe them to Florence Welch. The Florence and the Machine singer shared a short video clip on Monday, in which we can see her getting dressed, until she came across a jacket with the Yellowjackets logo written on the back.
“So happy to be chosen for the team this year,” she captioned the clip, which is accompanied by her reinterpretation of “Just A Girl” by No Doubt.
The tube melody takes on a sinister side in keeping with the very dark side of the series.
A girl-power anthem, originally released in 1995 on No Doubt’s third studio album Tragic Kingdom, “Just A Girl” with its rebellious lyrics and beat denounced the differences in treatment reserved for boys and girls, and how determined they were now. control of their lives.
A theme that perfectly fits the heroines of the Yellowjackets, whose adventures in Season 1 have already been lulled by a thunderous rock soundtrack, including titles by Alanis Morissette (“Uninvited”), Smashing Pumpkins (“Today”), Hole (“Miss World”), Ultravox ( “Vienna”), or even Prodigy (“Firestarter”) and Mazzy Star (“Fade Into You”).
Season 1 is still available
The official Instagram account of the series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson confirmed the collaboration with Florence Welch with the message: “We are one hell of a team.”
The second season of Yellowjackets, which will feature Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress and Juliette Lewis, as well as Elijah Wood, Lauren Ambrose, Simon Kessel, Sophie Nelis, Jasmine Savoy Brown, or Sophie Thatcher, should air from March 24 in the United States. In France, it will be visible later on Canal+. While waiting to discover the new episodes, it’s possible (and necessary for any self-respecting person) to catch up on Season 1 at MyCanal.
A horror, survival, and psychological drama, the unclassifiable, mystery-packed series follows the players of a New Jersey women’s soccer team who, in the 1990s, find themselves in a terrifying situation after their plane crashes in the North American wilderness.
In the struggle for their survival, high school girls gradually sink into brutality. The series follows in parallel the daily lives of some of them in their adulthood, while they are still haunted by the horrors they went through.
