The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi presented several new tech products during a live broadcast conference. The ones that interest us here are the Mi Laptop Pro, the laptops announced in 14 and 15-inch versions and definitely the premium spec sheet.
These computers are already Evo certified by Intel, which is a guarantee of a certain level of quality in terms of screen, independence and network connectivity. They have a touch screen with an impressive 93% occupancy rate, in 16:10 format decorated with Gorilla Glass. An ambient light sensor is integrated in order to adjust screen brightness in real time – this can reach 600 cd / m2 according to Xiaomi. The panels are advertised with fine calibration and have VESA HDR certification.
For the 15-inch model, the manufacturer opted for a 3.5K Oled panel (without specifying the exact definition) while the 14-inch screen would be satisfied with the 2.5K LCD, however it recorded at 120Hz. The only difference between the two models was presented.
To go with these cool displays (on paper anyway), Xiaomi offers a one-piece aluminum frame with a fingerprint reader at the start button. Connectivity includes wifi 6, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that allow for fast charging, a hub that adds a USB-A port, and another HDMI port.
In terms of components, all computers have 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD with a dedicated GeForce MX 450 graphics card. The choice between Intel Core i5 processors starts at 6,500 yuan (about 850 euros) and Intel Core i7 at 8,000 yuan. (€ 1040). The Mi 14 Pro laptop will sell for between 5,300 yuan (690 euros) for the i5 and 910 euros, the equivalent of a yuan for the i7. The selling price in Europe is likely to increase by a few hundred euros. Note that the Mi Pro laptop will also be available with AMD Ryzen 5000H processors from May.
