On October 31, in Edinburgh, Deputy Minister for Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc and Chairman of the Higher Education Financing Council for Wales, Rob Humphreys, presented an education action plan. Higher Education between the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and Wales.

The event was held as part of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s trip to attend the 26NS Conference of the Parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow from 31 October to 3 November. It marked another step forward in education and training cooperation between Vietnam and Wales.
According to the plan, the two sides will enhance cooperation between higher education institutions in order to develop joint training programs, as well as cooperation in the field of research. The plan also gives priority to exchange activities for students, teachers and researchers, granting scholarships, organizing training courses and professional seminars…
On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc and Director General of the British Council Charlie Walker signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the British Council.
The protocol emphasizes the creation of partnerships in the areas of university governance and autonomy, and the development of leadership skills in higher education. It also prioritizes cooperation to improve English language teaching capabilities in the Vietnamese education system.
