Vaudreuil-Dorion will celebrate the Fête nationale du Québec on June 24 with a program that will feature nothing but folk/traditional music ensemble North wind who, at the recent ADISQ ceremony, won the Félix Album of the Year Award – traditional for his critically acclaimed album: 20 spring.
After more than 2,000 concerts on 4 continents, the Le Vent du Nord group, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2023, will offer the citizens of Vaudreuil-Dorion and the region of Vaudreuil-Soulanges an unforgettable journey into its world, that of traditional Quebec music.
The five singers and multi-instrumentalists are known for their high-quality music, rich vocal harmonies, and infectious fun that emanates from all of their performances.
On June 24th we are delighted to present to our residents a pioneering selection of traditional Quebec music. Le Vent du Nord has been acclaimed not only in Quebec, but in prestigious concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York. As in previous years, the Fête nationale’s musical performances are part of the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion programme.
besides the group North windthe festival stage will vibrate to the sounds of the dynamic duo Feelings and taxis, whose repertoire ranges from pop to rock from yesteryear to today. Despite the English-sounding name, the duo has a large French-speaking repertoire.
Adding to this musical program will be the traditional National Day fireworks show, which has become a must-have for all fireworks show lovers.
Charlebois and the Three Agreements
According to tradition, the National Day will be celebrated as part of the Circus Festival to be held on June 23, 24 and 25 in Vaudreuil-d’Orion.
Throughout the festival, free performances, street entertainment and traditional carousels will enliven Avenue Jeannotte.
Among the performances announced, let us highlight the return of Les Trois Accords on June 23rd and Robert Charlebois at the end of the festival on June 25th. The Cité des Jeunes will play the first part of the Les Trois convention.
