In his first three starts in this professional series, the young driver from Drummondville has taken the podium three times. The day after his third place finish, he finished third and second place. These events were contested on the prestigious circuit Mid Ohio Sports Motors Tournament, and Ohio.
“There were ten drivers registered and I knew the top three would be very competitive. I was expecting to fight for the top five, but I fought for the win. This proves that I’m ready to move up the rankings in 2022,” Rafael Cubanni commented in a press release.
“I’m not hiding to say I worked hard to get there, but what about the partners who support me,” he added. Without them, I wouldn’t even be able to show up in Ohio. They saved my one-seat career to be honest! Now I am looking forward to next season with confidence. Winter will be very busy.”
According to Rafael Cubanni, these results will likely propel his career from next season. The 20-year-old became the first Canadian to enter the US Formula 2000 National Championship since Claude Bourbonnis in 1988.

My goal is to win this competition in order to open doors for me on the European side or even find Indy Lights series trials in 2023.
