The American Hockey Association has invited 22 players, including the Montreal Canadiens Lyn Hutson, Sean Farrell and Luke Toch, to represent the United States in the World Championships, which will be held from May 12-28 in Finland and Latvia.
The three skaters will take part in a training session on Saturday in Munich, Germany. The colour-bearers from Uncle Sam’s country will face Germany on Tuesday in an exhibition duel. The country’s first match in the tournament takes place on May 12 against the Finns.
With the Boston Terriers, Hutson, 19, has scored 48 points in 39 games this season, the highest among NCAA defensemen. He was also one of the ten finalists for the Hobey-Baker Trophy. The Michigan native was Bleu-Blanc-Rouge’s 62nd pick in 2022.
For his part, Farrell (21 years old) scored 53 points, including 20 goals, in 34 meetings with Harvard. The 124th pick in the 2020 draft had several meetings with the Hab, scoring one goal in six games. Finally, Tuch rubs shoulders with the Terrier’s Hutson. This year, his third in the NCAA, the 47th-place forward in the 2020 Amateur Auction has earned 20 points in 40 contests. His brother Alex will be from the Buffalo Sabers with coach David Quinn.

Other athletes to play in American colors include Pittsburgh Penguins veteran Nick Bonino and goaltender Casey Desmith, as well as Vancouver Canucks winger Connor Garland and Philadelphia Flyers Cutter Gauthier, who drafted the fifth overall last year.
Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Drew Commisso, having played at Boston University for the past three seasons, was also invited.
