The relationship between the UK and the EU is complex

The United Kingdom and the European Union are far from an agreement. David Frost, a former British Brexit negotiator, said on Tuesday that London’s relations with the EU had been strained since leaving the EU camp and that there was a threat to avoid disagreements and action over the Govt-19 vaccine. “Truth be told, this relationship has been very shaky over the last six weeks. I think it’s complicated, and I hope we will break it,” Frost told a House of Lords committee in the British Parliament.

He said the EU could ask for an extension of time needed to ratify the agreement with London on post-Brexit trade relations.

“I heard informally today that we will receive a formal request for an extension of the two-month period granted in the agreement to be approved by the European Union,” David Frost said.

However, the former Brexit negotiator said that we have to wait and see what is in this demand and what the EU wants.

“We are waiting to see what that demand is and how much they (the EU, edition) would like to extend this process. Obviously, this is a little disappointing as we discussed it only a month ago,” he added.

On the other hand, Frost announced that discussions are currently underway on a memorandum of understanding with the EU on financial services.
