According to the journalist bloomberg Always well informed Don’t count on the 14- and 16-inch Mac mini or MacBook Pro to launch this new collection. If he doesn’t give more details, there are still a few candidates: the 24-inch iMac could be among the first to inherit, even if we’re primarily thinking of the MacBook Air. Not to mention the poor 13-inch MacBook Pro that could last another year with the Touch Bar from another era.
A Mac mini M3 will already be planned, but nothing should be expected in the short term. According to Mark Gurman, he has barely begun work on this device and does not envision a release before the end of 2024, at best. He notes that two years have passed between the M1 models and the M2 releases, so Apple will remain on a flexible schedule, without updating its mini PC every year.
On the other hand, the MacBook Pro should be eligible for a more regular update. And that doesn’t mean we have to wait for them this fall, the release of the M3 lineup will have to wait until 2024 and possibly even mid-2014. Apple will repeat a now-established pattern, with the initial release of the Apple M3 chip for consumer Macs as well as iPads (and Vision Pro?), and then the second-stage release of the Apple M3 Pro and Apple M3 Max for Macs (for) Pro. If the first M3 Macs appear at the end of the year or early 2024 as rumor has it, the “professional” models will have to wait a few more months.
