The Gaume Museum is modernizing its reception area

Since its reopening, the Musée gaumais has offered visitors a completely new design of the reception area and a new shop. As an extension of Gaume’s business card, a wide range of handicrafts made in the region are on sale.

Concerned with the preservation of yesterday’s heritage as well as the promotion of today’s, Musée gaumais has recently launched an appeal on social networks to allow local creators to make their work known.says Camille Arnold, the museum’s executive assistant. Numerous artists and artisans have responded to the call and offer a selection of creations that will be replenished regularly to bring the shop to life.”

From ceramics and textiles to jewelry and photography, the shop now represents local diversity and creativity. The museum also promotes some creatives from the neighboring regions who transcend the geographic boundaries of the city of Gaume.

In addition to the artisans, the museum also has its own objects with the image of exquisite works and objects from its collections. Thus, the visitor will be able to choose between Quatre fils Aymon dolls, a mug in the colors of Marguerite Brouhon’s cats or even a tote bag with the image of Cupid.

Finally, a new bookstore offers a great selection of books. Among the topics to discover, heritage, ethnography, religion, art, nature, history … Young and old can satisfy their curiosity about the Gaume.
