The G7 foreign ministers will meet in Liverpool in December

The British Foreign Office said, on Monday, that the United Kingdom will host the summit of foreign and development ministers of the Group of Seven from December 10 to 12 in the city of Liverpool.

The same source said that Secretary of State Liz Truss will receive her counterparts from the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Japan and the European Union for a period of three days.

This is the second direct meeting of the G7 foreign ministers this year, after the May meeting that was also held in the United Kingdom, which chairs the group in 2021, the same source adds, noting that ” The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will also attend the G7 meetings for the first time«.

The foreign and development ministers will discuss a range of global issues, led by post-crisis economic resilience, global health and the impact of the pandemic, and the question of human rights.

Holding this meeting in Liverpool follows a series of major global events in the UK this year, including the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow in early November and the G7 Leaders Summit in Cornwall in June.
