Thailand – Diplomacy: New Thai ambassadors to the US, UK and Australia

On November 8, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed new ambassadors to head its foreign missions to the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and seven other countries.

An announcement in the Royal Gazette announced the designation of the 10 new Thai ambassadors as follows:

1. Chirdkyat Atakor will be the ambassador to Cambodia. Previously he served as Deputy Permanent Secretary.

2. Morakot Srisudi, Ambassador of Laos. His previous position was that of ambassador to Austria.

3. Thani Tongpakdi, UK Ambassador. His previous position was that of Permanent Secretary to the Ministry.

4. Jerry Serratanaban, Australian Ambassador to Australia. His previous position was that of Director General of the Department of East Asian Affairs.

5. Tani Sangrat, US Ambassador to the United States. His previous position was Director General of the Information Department.

6. Arunung Futung Humphreys, Ambassador to Sweden. His previous position was that of an ambassador attached to the ministry.

7. Waravoth Puapania, New Zealand Ambassador. His previous position was that of the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates.

8. Sorayt Chasumbat, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. His previous job was that of ambassador to Peru.

9. Vilawan Mangklatanakull, Austrian Ambassador. His previous position was that of Deputy Permanent Secretary.

10. Kitesak Klumshit, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Nigeria. His previous position was Minister of the Permanent Mission to ASEAN.
