Today they release the song and the video’Ancestralwhich was captured from the short film “Mad Lord: Samurai of 1000 Deaths” written and directed by Samuel Smith, with an audio recording in collaboration with the band.

The “Mad Lord” project is a creative collaboration between Stick and director Samuel Smith. Together they produced a group of interconnected works that coincide with the release of Acute Mania. Alongside the vinyl version of the album, the 24-page “Steak: Mad Lord” comic book will also be debuting. Written by Samuel Smith and illustrated by Rhys Wootton, it brings together the long-established future of Steak and the samurai world of feudal Japan from the short film “Mad Lord: Samurai of 1000 Deaths,” which will be released alongside the album and comic on April 1.

Stemming from the shades of dark London bars, the love for this Underground quartet knows no bounds. To help shape the rock ‘n’ roll movement across the UK and Europe – guitarist Reece Tee is also a founding member of the legendary Desertfest – STEAK has embarked on a crusade to shake Cities and Rolling Heads since 2012. After releasing a series of devastating EPs and their first feature “Slab” City” on Napalm Records, the quartet found a home on California label Ripple Music to release their second album of “No God to Save” for 2017, backed by an extensive tour with the likes of John Garcia, Atomic Wax and Greenleaf.

Five years later, STEAK is finally ready to release his long-awaited third album “Acute Mania” on Ripple Music. Recorded and mixed by JB Pilon at Buffalo Studio and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén at Tri-Lamb Studios, with artwork by Schoph Schofield and Rhys Wootton. It will be released in limited edition and on classic vinyl, CD and digital by Ripple Music. The band will also perform at Desertfest London and Desertfest Berlin 2022 this spring to showcase the album alongside rock’s greatest classics.
