SpaceX is preparing to send civilians into space

SpaceX continues to develop in the field of space tourism. Elon Musk is currently working on its new project, Polaris Dawn, which will see civilians conduct spacewalks, reports Nomirama.

This is the first mission of the Polaris Program with many ambitions. It is clear that civilians involved in this unprecedented mission must undergo specific training. This began in early May with the fitting of the suits they will be wearing aboard the Crew Dragon capsule.

A highly supervised outing

Preparation for the spacewalk began in early September. During this flight, only two of the four amateur astronauts will go into space, remaining permanently attached to the space capsule. At the time of this spacewalk, Crew Dragon will be at an altitude of about 500 kilometers. The launch is scheduled for the end of 2022.

Since the beginning of the space conquest, a hundred spacewalks have already taken place without any tragic results. The Polaris program usually ends with the first manned flight of the Starship, the first fully reusable vehicle designed to carry crew and equipment into space.
