Rush Limbaugh dies: Provocative American radio host dies at age 70 after battle with lung cancer


Controversial American radio actor and political commentator Osh Limbaugh has died of lung cancer at the age of 70.

His wife, Catherine Adams, announced his death on her radio show Wednesday.

“Rush’s love for our country and for all of you will forever be”, she said in a statement.

He is best known as the host of the long-running radio show The Rush Limbaugh Show.

Mr. Limbaugh, a prominent figure in the conservative movement, was controversial because he was so influential.

He was accused of expressing racist, sexist and anti-gay views throughout his career.

A climate change denier, he promoted numerous conspiracy theories and was a staunch advocate of exceptionalism in the United States.

He was also a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, who last year awarded Mr. Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor.

Trump hailed him as “a special man loved by millions of Americans” and “the greatest fighter and winner you will ever meet.”

Limbaugh revealed in February 2020 that he had advanced lung cancer.
