A video shared on social media shows the British Prime Minister’s dog Noah walking in Hyde Park in London.
A video of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak walking his dog in Hyde Park has prompted a reminder of police rules in yet another embarrassing prank after ‘Partygate’ and ‘Cheet Beltgate’.
Images widely shared on social network TikTok show the Conservative leader’s dog Noah, a Labrador retriever, taking a walk in London’s Royal Park after looking closely at a sign that says dogs should be hugged.
The footage then shows Rishi holding Sunak by the collar, a woman who appears to be his wife Akshata Murthy, before handing him the strap.
A reminder of the rules
“We are aware of a video of a dog being dragged in Hyde Park,” a London Police spokesman said.
“An officer who was there then spoke to a woman and reminded her of the rules. The dog was put back on a leash,” said the same source.
According to the BBC, the officer in question is one of the Prime Minister’s closest bodyguards. A spokesperson for Rishi Sunak declined to comment.
“Particate” and “Seat Beltgate”
Since the end of October, Rishi Sunak has been fined for not wearing his seat belt while filming a video in the back of a car in the north of England.
He admitted it was a “mistake” and apologized, Downing Street said.
When he was Boris Johnson’s finance minister, Rishi Sunak was fined in the so-called “partygate” scandal for violating anti-covid rules and attending a rally for the prime minister’s birthday.
