D-Day has arrived for Pagani Finally introducing the Huayra R. As expected, the San Cesario sul Panaro supercar is only intended for the wise man on the track. To shine through the curves, she can count on her “old” engine, A. V12-R (That’s the little name) 6.0 liters.
You will be surprised to know that this engine is new, and that it has been completely designed by HWA AG. For those who don’t know, this company is founded by Hans Werner Aufrecht, one of the two men behind the popular AMG. HWA AG works closely with Mercedes-AMG and has been in motorsport for more than 20 years.
The V12-R engine invented by the Affalterbach teams 850 hp at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 750 Nm available between 5,500 and 8,300 rpm.. This engine is located in the rear center position, and is connected to a HWA AG-designed transmission. It is a six-speed sequential gearbox. Although the Pagani Huayra R is designed to always drive at its full potential, the Pagani has earned a point of honor for the reliability of its mechanical components. Maintenance should take place every 10,000 km.
Pagani did not need to call in a composer to give voice to the prestigious engine. He simply chiseled the Inconel alloy exhaust. There is no doubt that the Pagani Huayra R can make a lot of noise. Lamborghini SCV12 has shown it can sing without a wrong note, Pagani Huayra R must be totally gruesome. Silencers are provided in the event that the circuits require the vehicles not to exceed the decibel limit.
Pagani didn’t just make sure the Huayra R was powerful and a performer on the right track. Special attention was paid to style and design. The back face is barely recognizable, and for good reason, it has been completely modified to give the look even more while respecting aerodynamic principles that work in favor of performance.
The stern is lengthened and the lights adjusted. We still find the four exhaust ducts, but the air extractor now stands out and there is a thin, floating wing above that stern.
At the front there are new side air intakes necessary to cool the carbon-ceramic brake system. Various inserts contribute to the flow of air. The goal Pagani hopes is to achieve 1,000 kg of aerodynamic downforce at 320 km / h.
19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, developed in cooperation with APP Tech. As for the tires, they are signed by Pirelli and developed specifically for the Pagani Huayra R. In the passenger compartment, the seats are integrated into a monocoque chassis; weight is of course necessary for racing cars. Pagani announced that the Huayra R weighs only 1,050 kg.
A dream car comes at a price
This sweet car dream comes at a price, and it’s very (very) salty. Pagani will only produce 30 copies de la Huayra R. Initial price set at 2.6 million euros excluding taxes! Adding taxes, the Pagani Huayra R costs more than 3 million euros. By spending that amount, customers will automatically have access to Pagani’s “Arte in Pista” program that provides track sessions on the world’s most famous circuits with support from the entire Pagani team and its drivers .: Do you like it?
