To save time and get viewers on board quickly, the Academy of Oscars presented both awards at the same time, with Ariana DeBose and Troy Kotsur appearing on stage at the same time.
Favorite Ki Hwi Kwan won the statuette for his role in “Everything, Everywhere, Everything at Once”. Recalling his journey as a refugee and fulfilling his “American dream,” the actor cried with joy and thanked his family.
Favorite Jamie Lee Curtis also beat out other favorite Angela Bassett for her portrayal of a sly Revenue Service employee in the insane “Everything, Everywhere, Every Time.”
The actress welcomed the entire cast of the sci-fi film before remembering that her parents were named in their time before exclaiming, incredibly, “I just won an Oscar.”
