Netflix: Petition launched to save one of the best series on the platform – News Séries

After the official announcement of the final cessation of “Mindhunter” by David Fincher, fans of the series do not want to admit defeat and launch a petition to convince the platform.

Four years after the second season of Mindhunter, fans of the series are still hoping for Agent Holden Ford to return. However, everything is deadlocked on the side of Netflix and this is without relying on David Fincher’s statements in Columns Sunday newspaper.

At the end of February, the director confirms the end of the program: “I’m so proud of the first two seasons. But it’s a particularly expensive show, and in the eyes of Netflix, we haven’t attracted a large enough audience to justify such an investment.”

This statement is more bad news for those who were hoping for a pleasant surprise, but fans weren’t put off. An online petition directed at David Fincher himself and other creators has been launched.

As of this writing, the goal of 35,000 signatures is nearing completion. “We respectfully request that you review your priorities and take the time to film this Season 3 soon, and if that’s not possible, consider hiring a new director.”explains the author of the petition.

She continues:Please don’t let such a great series die because we know beyond any doubt that it has the potential to be one of the most popular series.“

I’m not sure the fan’s efforts will pay off. Few petitions can change the platform’s mind. In April 2022, director Andrew Dominik revealed plans for a third season.

According to him, agent Holden Ford had to go to Hollywood to work on profiling, crossing paths with directors like Jonathan Demme and Michael Mann – who had adapted books by Thomas Harris, author of the famous Hannibal Lecter.

David Fincher will soon return to Netflix with his new feature film, The Killer, starring Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton. The movie, which was partially shot in Paris, is expected on November 10, 2023.
