Netflix now relies on short videos to try to win the hearts of its young audience. The streaming giant is rolling out a new feature inspired by TikTok. It’s called “Kids Clips,” and it allows kids to watch short videos taken from the platform’s catalog.

As a first step, this new functionality will be tested by iOS users located in the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Latin America. How it works ? Just like on the Chinese social network, kids will be able to swipe the videos from top to bottom. They will be able to add likes and comment on it.

Videos are presented in landscape format, not vertically as in TikTok. In addition, users will also have the option to add contents to their list. Finally, since this new feature is intended for children, Netflix has decided to restrict its use. In particular, children will not be able to watch more than twenty clips at a time.

This isn’t the first time the streaming giant has taken inspiration from the Chinese app to expand its audience. A few months ago, the broadcasting giant launched a section laughs fast on its mobile application. It offers short humorous videos from movies and series in its catalog.
