Netflix expands Fast Laughing feature test in more countries

In March, Netflix began testing a new feature called Fast Laughs.

The feature brings together clips from Netflix Comedy specials, movies, sitcoms, and more. These clips can then be accessed via a menu in the Netflix mobile app.

Testing was initially limited to Apple iOS in some countries, but is now expanding to South Africa and Android.

“We’re always looking for new ways to entertain and make discovery easier for members. Today, we’re excited to bring you Fast Laughs, a new full-screen stream of fun clips from a variety of Netflix titles, from movies and series to our wide selection of stand-up specials” , said Netflix’s Director of Product Innovation, Patrick Fleming.

To be perfectly clear, this feature is still being tested, Netflix has simply expanded the test.

This extension means that users in France, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Africa, among others, can experience Fast Laughs on Android or iOS with local translation and voiceover.

This feature is very similar to TikTok, but for Netflix. We say this because when you select the Quick Laughter menu, the game will be presented with the mobile comedy broadcast. If you select this option, you will receive a feed of comedy clips that you can share on other platforms including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter.

Netflix says that you can also skip directly to the full content of this list, which can be great.

The Fast Laughs feature is said to be available from August 30th here in South Africa, so if you haven’t seen it yet, it will be soon.
