Support for the first generation Chromecast has ended

The device, which launched in 2013 (2014 in Canada) for $39, will no longer receive software updates or security updates. From now on, Google will not provide any technical support for this media player.
Users can also expect to see a performance decline
Their first generation Chromecast, says Google. End of support will take effect at the end of April, according to The Verge.
And according to what was reported by the specialized site 9to5Google, the last update that was performed on this device dates back to last November, that is, three years after the previous update.
Google’s first Chromecast, which looked like a thumb drive, had some commercial success, not least because of its affordability.
The device connects to the TV via the HDMI port and allows video content to be distributed from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
The device can also accommodate streaming applications, such as Netflix, for example.
Several other versions of the Google device have been released in the past few years. The latest model, featuring HD picture quality and remote control, will be introduced in 2022.
