Mondrian continues its expansion in the Middle East

After Doha and Abu Dhabi, the Accor brand plans to establish itself in Riyadh by 2026 as part of the Malaga Village entertainment complex.

After announcing last year that Mondrian Abu Dhabi would open in 2024 in cooperation with Al Hazoum Group, Mondrian unveiled its new projects that belong to a neighboring destination. After the UAE, it is Saudi Arabia’s turn to welcome the lifestyle brand, specifically the city of Riyadh.

Mondrian Riyadh Hotel & Apartments Malaga will have 200 keys, including 130 standard rooms and suites, 25 one-bedroom apartments, 35 two-bedroom apartments, and 10 three-bedroom serviced apartments. The offering will be complemented by three new restaurants and lounges created by Carte Blanched, an F&B concept studio in Ennismore as well as extensive event spaces and social wellness spaces.

Designed by interior designer and architect Tristan De Plessis, the hotel was built with a focus on energy saving, water saving and carbon emissions reduction, which allows it to achieve LEED certification.

In addition, the property will be part of the mixed-use Urban Village of Malaga, where residents and visitors can enjoy shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation. The new Mondrian will also benefit from easy access to Riyadh Boulevard, which hosts major events and concerts.

Under development with owner Olayan Finance Company (OFC), Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga is helping to cement the strategic partnership between Ennismore and OFC who are already planning future projects to introduce other Ennismore lifestyle brands in Saudi Arabia.

Mondrian’s global expansion shows no signs of slowing with a pipeline of 17 hotels and branded homes, including highly anticipated openings in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bordeaux, Ibiza, Cannes, Dubai, Australia’s Gold Coast and Abu Dhabi.
