The exciting news comes straight from the Magic Showcase 2021 that aired earlier today. The first thing you should know is that this set unfortunately won’t be available until 2023. It will be part of the Universes Beyond initiative launched by Magic, which includes crossovers with, say, Warhammer 40,000, Fortnite and Street. Fighter.

As it did with its own collection of Dungeons & Dragons, the company promised online and physical issuance of cards related to Lord of the Rings as well as a full immersion in Middle-earth. Also expect some Secret Lair collectibles and Commander decks. Additionally, Elves, Hobbits, and Uruk-hai will appear in competitive circles for years to come.

We all have these characters with a lot of backstory and personality and each with their own story and now we have the chance to put them on our Magic Card. We want to be true to the spirit of the characters and give them a little magic touch.” Product engineer Mark Heegen said at the event.
