Netflix has just revealed the trailer for one of its most anticipated projects: the animated series YasukiInspired by the true story of the first black samurai. The plot is set in alternate Japan, where magic and robots coexist with samurai. In this violent universe, Ronin Yasuke tries to lead a peaceful life. When his village becomes the scene of a bitter power struggle, Yasuke comes out of retirement to save this haven of peace and a child threatened by evil forces.
“Yasuke is a wonderful and mysterious character in Japanese history,” Lisan Thomas said last month. In a press release. “I learned its existence and its importance a decade ago. Children’s book Kuro Sook Photo by Corso Yoshio featured my curiosity. Finding out that this was not a fictional character, but a real person was very exciting to create an adventure story.
The real Yasuke, a former slave from Africa, Devo Samurai, lived in the 16th century. His career inspires and fascinates the younger generations, and in particular the chef Mori Sako, Who recently opened a restaurant named Mosuke is a nod to the character.
