Le Matin – Casbah Museum: a new space for contemporary art opens in Tangiers

On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the Foundation of the National Museum is inaugurating a new museum in Tangiers, under the name “The Kasbah Museum, Contemporary Art Space”. On the occasion of its inauguration, FNM made a huge tribute to a group of painters from the North by showcasing their work. These are the creations of Muhammad al-Sarghini, Muhammad Atallah, Muhammad Faqih al-Raqaraji, Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, Muhammad Shebaa, Saad bin Shafaj, Makki al-Maghara, Muhammad al-Malihi, Abd al-Karim al-Wazzani and others.

A new venue for the art exhibition was recently opened in Tangiers: the Kasbah Museum. This project is the result of an agreement signed between the National Museum Foundation, the wilaya of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the Agency for the Development and Development of the North (APDN) and the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the Tangier Rehabilitation and Improvement Project. Abdelaziz El Idrissi, director of the Mohammed VI Museum, asserts that “this agreement made it possible to restore this space, rehabilitate it as a museum, and create a link between this exhibition space and the Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Culture, and then the villa of a guard.” Museum and co-curator of the exhibition. During this opening, an agreement was signed between the Foundation of the National Museum of Saham (represented by its General Director Mrs. Ben Abdeljalil) and the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) in Tetouan. By signing this agreement, Saham will contribute an endowment of 100,000 dirhams to the four main INBA winners, at a rate of 25,000 dirhams each. An amount that allows them to set up an exhibition project. In this regard, Mehdi Zwak, Director of the National Animal Institute of Tetouan, expressed his happiness with this very precious support, which will encourage them to work and realize their projects.
