Julie and Netflix Ghosts are canceled after one season

Jolly and ghosts, a supernatural musical that airs on Netflix, was canceled after just one season. This announcement was confirmed by the show’s executive producer Kenny Ortega.

The caption text on Ortega’s social media post: “Our [Julie and the Phantoms] The family wants to send our endless love and thanks to our Phantoms around the world for the massive outpouring of love and support you’ve shown us since the first show. This week we learned that Netflix won’t be picking us up for another season. Although our hearts are heartbroken, we are moving forward with great pride for what we have accomplished as a team and the family we have built by creating Julie. The people involved in the project made personal contacts.

Jolly and ghosts Based on a Brazilian TV series called Julie and the Phantasmus. The Netflix version starred Madison Reyes as Julie Molina, a teen musician who mistakenly summons the ghosts of slain rockers Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Patrick Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada). In September, executive producers David Hogg and Dan Cross spoke in an interview with TVLine. Hoge and Cross discussed, “If we’re lucky enough to get a second season, the Ghosts will have a lot to do. They’ve always wanted to make their music known to the whole world. As Luke always says, they want that connection with their audience. A number one album? A song on top.” The charts? All you need to remember their music. But as you saw at the end, there were still a lot of obstacles in their way. And now there seemed to be an “obstacle” in the inner circle. There were ideas for the future of the show that unfortunately did not come to fruition.

Although the show did not have a long life, it managed to win many awards. At the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, the series won Best Musical Moment. In addition, he received three Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Original Song (Unsaid Emily), Outstanding Costume Design, and Multi-Camera Editing.
