Temperatures in England hit an unprecedented 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees Celsius.

Two major cloud service providers had to take drastic measures in response to the situation. In fact, they shut down some machines in their infrastructure to prevent further damage to cloud computing systems. Unsurprisingly, this caused “errors” in some services that depended on these broken infrastructures.

It is a building that houses part of the capacity of the Google Cloud Europe West region. The failure led to the shutdown of virtual machines and the loss of machines to a small group of its customers. The technicians managed to partially solve the problem in the evening. However, some customers report that the problem persists in this area.

At the same time, Oracle said on its status page that it faced the same issue. He directly attributes this failure to the prevailing heat in England. He was forced to stop the engines to minimize the damage. Some customers are unable to access or use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resources in the same zone, such as object storage, compute, and volume modules. The service is also slowly coming back online.
