Fundraiser for Neptech – France Hydrogen

The startup, which designs hydrogen transport rafts, has just completed a €1.2m fundraiser. This is the first fundraiser for this young company, based in Aix-en-Provence. Its value is 1.2 million euros, including 800 thousand euros from private funds. Sud Mer Invest (Banque Populaire du Sud / Crédit Maritime), CAAP Création, a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Alpes-Provence, Banque Populaire Med, Mer Angels and Family Office took part in the roundtable, accompanied by institutional partners. For Neptech, this is a stepping stone to the commercial deployment of its ships. Since May 2020, the company has been developing hydroelectric propulsion vessels from 10 to 30 meters in length, which can accommodate up to 200 passengers or about twenty tons of cargo. To implement its project, the company relies on a network of technical and institutional partners: test laboratories, fuel cell suppliers, and even artificial intelligence specialists. While the company is in advanced technical and commercial discussions with more than twenty potential opportunities in France and Europe, the first boat should therefore be launched in 2024, in particular within the framework of JOP2024. Among 120 files*, the company has been selected with EODev (Energy Observer) to design and operate hydrogen propulsion-equipped passenger shuttles in the Seine and in Marseille during JOP 2024. The project plans to connect ships to floating hydrogen charging stations.
