Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah believes newly appointed coach Chris Hughton can get Ghana back to where it was.
Appiah has called on the Ghanaians to support the former Brighton & Hove Albion boss when he takes charge of the Black Stars at the end of the month. Hughton will begin his training with the national team in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
We all know Chris Hughton, who has coached many clubs in the UK.he told Citi Sports. “He came to Ghana and was part of the team that went to Qatar for the World Cup. He was the coach then and now he is the coach. We all hope we can rally behind him and bring our Black Stars back to where we’ve seen them before.”added the former Juventus player from Turin.
Appiah was the first Ghanaian captain to qualify the West African country for the World Cup and was also part of the team that made history at the 2010 World Cup.
Hughton is expected to be in Ghana this week to start preparing for the match against Angola.
