Canada scored another point in their quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup on Sunday night in Nashville. The Maple Leaf team drew 1-1 against the Americans at Nissan Stadium.
This is the second game the Canadians have drawn 1-1 against Honduras last Thursday.
In today’s match, Canada USA entered first in scoring. In the 55th minute, Brendan Aaronson slipped into the penalty area, converting a cross from one of his teammates into the net by goalkeeper Milan Porgen.
Uncle’s country representatives did not take the lead for long. Seven minutes after Aronson’s victory, Kyle Lauren created a deadlock.
The game started with a fantastic effort by Samuel Adecope for Alfonso Davis. The latter accepted the pass and used his speed to go deeper into the boundaries of his rivals. Byrne found Munich player Lorraine, who was completely alone around the opposite net. The 26-year-old said he wanted to keep the ball in an empty cage.
Next Wednesday, Canada will try to qualify for the prestigious tournament with the first win of this last phase. He will be visiting from El Salvador at BMO Field in Toronto. This is the 14th and third game.
Maple Leaf has not been able to secure its World Cup ticket since the 1986 edition.
