European-Iranian negotiations on the nuclear file

AA / Tehran

The European Union negotiator responsible for the Iranian nuclear talks, Enrique Mora, met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri in the capital, Tehran.

A statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, on Thursday, said that Mora and Bagheri discussed the situation in Afghanistan, talks related to the nuclear issue, as well as relations between Tehran and the European Union.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said earlier that this week will witness developments related to talks on the nuclear issue, and that the issue will be discussed during the European official’s meetings.

Last June, negotiations to relaunch the nuclear deal Iran signed in 2015 with the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany were halted. Note that Washington withdrew in 2018.

This agreement made it possible to lift many international sanctions, especially economic ones, on Iran in exchange for restricting the activities of its nuclear program and ensuring its calm.
