Educational cooperation is an important pillar of bilateral relations
During a recent working visit to the University of Virginia in Virginia, Vietnam’s ambassador to the United States, Nguyen Quoc Duong, addressed professors and students at the university, noting that educational cooperation was an important pillar of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung also held a working session with professors from the University of Virginia to discuss possibilities of enhancing educational cooperation between the University of Virginia and Vietnamese educational institutions.
According to Professor Physics Pham Quang Hung, who has been teaching at the University of Virginia since 1982, professors at the University of Virginia value Vietnamese students for their good abilities, diligence and dynamism, which is a very necessary quality in the field of research.
For his part, the Deputy Dean in charge of External Relations and International Operations and Developing the Strategic Vision of the University of Virginia, Stephen De Mol, expressed his hope for developing cooperation between the University of Virginia and partners in Vietnam.
According to Ted Osios, former US ambassador to Vietnam, and chair of the US-ASEAN Business Council, Vietnam currently has 5 countriesH More students in the United States, which benefits both countries, including economic benefits. He said that cooperation in the field of education can help bring about strong changes in the integrated cooperation between the two countries in the coming times.
Currently, many Vietnamese professors work at the University of Virginia, and about 170 Vietnamese students study there.
