Kylie Minogue has been an inspiration to Dua Lipa since childhood, the young singer told Australian radio station KIIS105. The star also expressed her excitement for collaborating with Miley Cyrus on the title Prisoner.
Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue together recorded a remix of Real Groove, from the Australian pop star’s 15th disco studio album. The British singer explained that the experience was a dream come true, as she has been a fan of Kylie Minogue since she was eight years old.
“I love Kylie. I’ve loved all of her songs, her music videos, she’s an icon, she’s the queen,” she told Australian radio station KIIS105. Stylistically, I think what we two are doing is just right and I think we’ll be a huge hit together. “
The 25-year-old singer, like many musicians, stopped working in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But the one thing the New Rules Translator is thankful for is the chance to be able to team up with Miley Cyrus on the title Prisoner. Indeed, before, neither of the artists had time to realize this desire to record together due to their busy schedules. “After the first four months of confinement in the UK, I went back to the US and Miley and I ended up in the studio working on The Prisoner,” she continued.
Dua Lipa is pleased and “proud” of the outcome of this often postponed musical encounter. “But it was up in the air: We’ve been friends for a while and had an idea and planned to do a song together. We didn’t get the chance because we were always so busy and traveling, so we couldn’t get together in a room. While now it seems like a perfect collaboration: It’s the perfect combination of Two votes we have, I think it really represents both of us. I’m so proud of him Dua Lipa exclaimed “The prisoner was such a liberation from everything that was going on at the time.”
