Nine DRC citizens have been selected for postgraduate study in the UK under the Sevening Scholarship.
Sevening is a British government scholarship program fully funded by the Foreign Office, the Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) – the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its partners. According to the British Embassy in Kinshasa, the scholarship offers the opportunity to pursue a one-year postgraduate degree in the best universities in the country for professionals in any field who have shown leadership in the professional environment. .
In the 2021-2022 academic year, 250 Congolese candidates applied and 37 were elected by the British Diplomatic Representation in Kinshasa. The 7 lucky recipients are from Kinshasa, Coma, Pokவுmon and Immigrants (South Africa).
More than 50 Congolese people have already benefited from the Sevening Scholarship since its inception in 1983.
