Catering, transportation, construction: Departments that require hard time have the greatest difficulty in hiring staff.
In the United States, Delta Airlines had to cancel nearly a hundred flights over a weekend in April. In east London, Italian restaurant Ombra has resigned to close two days a week due to a lack of staff, despite the influx of customers since it reopened. The establishment employs eight people and will need six more to open seven days a week. “Our staff already have a forty-eight hour contract and some overtime work, but we need a lot more. Because of covetousness and partial unemployment, people no longer want to work long hours in restaurants. Some have found less hard work in offices, while others have between their personal and professional careers. They are reconsidering the balance ”, Restaurant manager Giulia Pusco testifies.
The United States and the United Kingdom are among the countries with the highest labor shortages.
