Paris (AFP) – Two-tone shoes, modern beading and sequin embroidery, handcrafted camellia: Chanel celebrated craftsmanship on Tuesday with a parade at 19m in Paris, a new space that wants to bring together the best of luxury artisans.

An elegant crowd in tweed jackets with padded bags flocked to the brand new building in a working-class neighborhood in northern Paris, known for its immigrant camps and unaccustomed to the glamour of fashion.

The parade was surrounded by strict security measures: all guests had to take a PCR test the day before, along with their health card. A mask was required even outside the building.

On the catwalk, there is an abundance of knitwear, sweaters, but also “total looks” such as a purple set consisting of a bust, a culotte skirt, a jacket, and a neck warmer. Feathers and sequins are omnipresent, and the theme of the display is required for craftsmen.
