Shi Dai Wilson scored 19 points and provided nine assists, as Aaliyah Edwards added 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Canada to a 78-60 victory over France on Sunday in the final.
Merissa Russell gave Canada 11 points, while Shayna Billington scored 10.
The Baylor University team, representing the United States, will face Brazil in the men’s final later on Sunday. They defeated Canada 93-87 the day before.
The Canadians led 19-16 after one quarter, but Yvonne Eggem’s shot late in the second quarter capped a 13-3 straight for the Maple Leaf representatives, who extended the lead to 13 points. In the first half, they led 37-25.
Canada added its lead in the second half. A 58-43 lead before the quarter-finals and Billington’s powerful shot, with 8:25 left in the game, gave the Canadians a 22-point lead.

The Globl Jam competition was created to bridge the gap between Under-19 events and Seniors programmes. The Canadian gave a rare opportunity to play at home.
Canadian Basketball is dreaming of making the Globl Jam a basketball side for the World Junior Hockey Championship. Both financially and to create a platform to increase the visibility of the sport.
