SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) — BTS member J-Hope’s new digital single “On the Street” has entered the Billboard Hot 100 at the latest rankings released Tuesday (US time). It is the highest charting for a dance rapper of all time with a single and his fourth chart entry with a solo track after “Chicken Noodle Soup”, “More” and “The Burn”.
Besides the Hot 100, “on the street” charted at #2 in Digital Song Sales and #16 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. United States this week. In the United Kingdom, the song entered the Official British Top 100 Singles Chart at number 37 for the week ending Thursday. The dancing rapper released the song, which he performed with American rapper and producer J. Cole, on March 3. It was a surprise gift for his fans before joining the army. In South Korea, any man in good physical condition must do military service for about two years.
Separately, Septet’s anthology album, “Proof,” stayed on the Billboard 200 for the 39th consecutive week and held No. 187. Frontman RM’s debut single “Indigo” was on the World Albums chart for 14 consecutive weeks, ranking at No. 12 this week, while “Promise” and “Christmas Love” ranked second and third, respectively, on the World Digital Song Sales. The latter also included “The Astronaut”, Jin’s debut solo album (fifth), “Vibe”, a collaboration between Jimin and Bigbang’s Taeyang (ninth), and “Yet To Come” (tenth).
