After a year of restrictions, the introduction of the vaccine has revived the hopes and expectations of travelers around the world. This is what a new study showed, in which more than 28,000 people from 28 countries and regions participated.

Booking.com, the leading online travel platform, today revealed the results of a study it conducted on more than 28,000 travelers in 28 countries and territories *. The arrival of vaccines is fueling travelers’ optimism
Even if tourists know that the epidemic has not yet lagged behind, half of French travelers (50%) are optimistic about the idea of travel in 2021. A renewed hope is especially due to the continuous work of medical teams and scientists around the world, and the spread of COVID-19 vaccines. More than half (56%) say the travel restrictions in 2020 have made them want to explore more parts of the world in 2021.
Vaccine confidence is very strong: 46% of French travelers say they will not travel abroad until they are vaccinated, and this percentage rises to 59% for those over the age of 55. In addition, 47% of the French only plan to travel to countries that have established a vaccination program. Even so, some people remain hesitant: 46% are not convinced the vaccine will allow them to travel with peace of mind.
Travel priority after the pandemic
Although the trend is optimistic, many French travelers admit that the inability to travel in 2020 has had an impact on their well-being. For 61% of the French surveyed, travel is now of greater importance than it was before the pandemic.
