Colorado Springs, Colo. – Thunder’s Jalen Williams and Kings’ Keegan Murray are on the 14-man practice squad announced Monday by USA Basketball for the Basketball World Cup.
Other players who play in the NBA are Chet Holmgren (Thunder), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Jalen Duren (Pistons), Jalen Green (Rockets), Quentin Grimes (Knicks), Herb Jones (Pelicans), Trey Murphy (Pelicans), Payton Pritchard (Celtics) (T-wolves) and Nazolid.
Rounding out the panel were Langston Galloway, Eric Mika and John Jenkins.
The tournament begins on August 25 in Manila, Philippines.
Magic head coach Jamal Mosley will coach the practice squad, assisted by the Pacers’ Jim Boylan and Purdue’s Matt Painter.
“We are confident that the coaching staff will do a great job preparing the national team for the World Cup,” commented General Manager Grant Hill.
“We have a good mix of young NBA players and veterans that helped us qualify. All of them will play a big role in our success in Manila.
Six regular squad members from ‘Team USA’ served on the practice squad: Brandon Ingram (2016), Jaron Jackson (2019), Mikal Bridges (2019), Jalen Brunson (2019), Anthony Edwards (2021) and Tyrese Halliburton (2021).
