As tradition dictates, Joe Biden greeted the NCAA Division I champions to highlight their exploits.

The President of the United States was giving a rousing speech to promote women’s sports when rookie Samia Smith was briefly knocked unconscious.

After a brief period of concern, President Biden confirmed that the situation was not serious. Later, Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey offered an update on her player status.

According to ESPN, she said, “For those who are worried, Samia is fine. I can assure you of that. She’s a little embarrassed right now. She doesn’t want to leave. She wants to stay with us but she needs to get medical help.”

Separately, when the dust settled, LSU star Angel Reese shared a hug with the first lady. Reese was reluctant to accept the White House invitation after Jill Biden suggested that the NCAA Finals-lost Iowa Hawkeyes make the trip to the US capital. Then she turned around to reserve the honor for the winners.
