After a big away win in La Liga against Seville this weekend, Barcelona are back in action to play Sevilla for the second time in four days, but that will be in the largest stadium in the world with a place in the Copa del Final. Irrigate for the share.
At the start of February, Barcelona played the first leg of the semi-finals terribly and were comfortably lost by Sevilla who defended well and won 2-0. Barcelona cried out loudly due to a late penalty kick rejected by the referee and VAR, and not getting an away goal makes it a huge challenge for the Blaugrana.
But Saturday’s win was very encouraging, with a change of line-up and a lot of intensity leading to a 2-0 win that could have been bigger, and if the same result was repeated on Wednesday night, the showdown is over – time.
However, it’s hard to see the game taking place like it did on Saturday, which is why: Sevilla are taking two goals and not needing to win like they did on the weekend. Coach Julen Lopetegui’s side can sit back and count on their excellent defense and have fast forwards who can pose a danger on the counter, especially if they find themselves cut off from the third comeback at Barcelona again.
Barcelona will have to take the risk and an early goal will be very beneficial, and based on the quality of the opportunities created in Seville, the Catalans can find at least two goals to return in this draw. It all depends on their ability to defend and for how long they can maintain the strength levels posted on Saturday. They can do that, but it has to be another near-perfect performance.
