Arteta will be denied players for the Liverpool match

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be denied two players for the Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday night due to an injury.

The players are Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal confirmed this in a statement on their website before facing Liverpool at the weekend at Anfield.

Kolasinac injured his left ankle, while Xhaka was recovering from an internal ligament injury in the knee.

“Syed sustained a serious injury to his left ankle while playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team during the international period. Syed is now beginning his rehabilitation in the UK and his evaluation continues,” the statement read.

“Granite continues to make good progress in her recovery from an internal ligament injury to her knee sustained on September 26. Granite is now on the run with the current goal of returning to full training in January.

“All the other players in the men’s first team are currently fit and available for selection.”

Arsenal travel to this game after a 1-0 win over Watford in their last Premier League game before the last international break.
