CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal confirmed the information, noting that this nurse “observed the examination three times a week.”

Symptoms also appeared on a user the nurse had been in contact with. He also tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

“We are investigating to determine if there is an epidemiological link between these two cases,” CIUSSS spokeswoman Melanie Araus said in a written letter.

The organization ensures that the nurse has her mask on at all times and that she is taken out of her unit as soon as a positive result for her screening test is known.

“CIUSSS de l’Ouest de l’Île-de-Montréal continues to strongly encourage staff and physicians to receive vaccination and continue to respect infection prevention and control standards with the same strength that has been observed since the beginning of the epidemic,” adds CIUSSS.
