This year, multinational Disney celebrates the pomp of its founding, 100 years ago.
The festivities will kick off on January 27th at Disneyland, California, which will be the heart of the festivities. Walt Disney World (WDW), in Orlando, is not to be outdone, as are the festivities surrounding it’s fiftiethH The anniversary runs until March 31.
The four parks with distinct identities in Central Florida still faithfully bear Walt Disney’s vision, even though he died in September 1966, long before the first swamp rides appeared. Its influence is still very present.
Greetings to see
Respect for Walt Disney is particularly evident at the Magic Kingdom, the first theme park to open at WDW at 1Verse October 1971. Statue of Walt Disney, holding Mickey Mouse in his hand, in front of Cinderella’s famous castle, eloquent. The visionary’s name is also painted on two of the windows overlooking Main Street, Main Street USA. He is the only one who holds this double honor. Her brother Roy, who valiantly saw WDW see the light of day, also has a statue in her honor with Minnie. But his name is only written on the window. It was he who insisted that the project launched by his younger brother bear the name.
Well planned garden
Encouraged by the popularity of Disneyland in the western United States, Walt Disney began dreaming of a much larger theme park at the other end of the country. While inspired by what contributed to the success of the first park, located in Anaheim, he sought to present an improved version. Upon seeing the half-masked mascot wandering around Disneyland with his head in his hands, Walt Disney had the idea to create a system of trails (called Utilidor) under the Magic Kingdom, in order to preserve the magic of the place. Thus the different characters go to their destination out of sight. The intelligent system makes it possible to pick up the waste carefully. Thus, the parallel universe hides under Cinderella’s castle and the surrounding area.
WDW’s four parks celebrate in their own way different aspects of Walt Disney, who created as much in animation as in film and television. The Magic Kingdom, as its name suggests, is full of fantasy and still has a special place for characters from classic Disney characters, like Cinderella and Snow White. Imbued with the magic of Hollywood’s golden age, Disney’s Hollywood studios remember the creator’s cinematic beginnings as well as his many successes. Epcot (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), which was to be a model for the city of the future, did not fit the original concept. However, this garden celebrates scientific developments and encourages discovery of diverse cultures around the world. As for Animal Kingdom, the widest of the four parks, it pays homage to Walt Disney’s passion for animals. His series of short documentaries Real life adventureswhich launched in 1948 and was crowned with eight Oscars, was the first to highlight the beauty of nature.
It is constantly evolving
Walt Disney once remarked, “Disneyland will never end. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” This philosophy also applies to WDW, which is constantly evolving. In addition to the Magic Kingdom and the two hotels that opened in 1971, the theme park Epcot (in 1982), Disney-MGM Studios (in 1989, which later became Disney’s Hollywood Studios), and Animal Kingdom (in 1998) opened ), as well as 20 resorts, two water parks, and the Disney Springs amusement center. Epcot, which celebrated its 40th anniversaryH The anniversary last October is undergoing a major transformation, which began in 2019. The Earth’s spaceship, the huge ball that stands at one of the entrances to the park, glows spectacularly as part of the 50H WDW’s birthday.
The lure of modernity
In keeping with Walt Disney’s vision, the parks regularly reinvent themselves by adding rides that give them new energy. Pandora’s painstaking crafting, recreating the amazing world ofsymbol picture, The Animal Kingdom attraction has expanded since May 2017. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is taking advantage of the expansion to bring 2019’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and 2018’s Toy Story Land. Recently added Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, both at Epcot, are all the rage. Eagerly awaiting, the Tron Lightcycle/Run will launch on April 4th at the Magic Kingdom.
