Ads in video games? EA denies this rumor

A few days ago, the video game world was rocked with an announcement that made gamers all over the world feel bad. So far we’ve had TV ads and YouTube ads before online videos and popups… There should be advertising content in video gamesEspecially those for EA!

Simply put, it’s a bit like buying Blue-Ray for €30 in stores and having an ad interrupt your experience in the middle of a movie. He offered to watch it to unlock rewards… We were shocked to learn that some publishers were planning to show in-game ads (15-30 seconds) that wouldn’t be mandatory. On the other hand, rewards will be available to players who agree to watch a few seconds of the ad.

Unsurprisingly, EA was part of the list of publishers intending to integrate this system at the end of 2021. After many controversies, the publisher responded by rejecting this information. At least for the moment.

After the numerous (negative) reactions that followed the announcement about commercials in video games, Electronic Arts had to clear things up. call him computer gamesAn EA spokesperson was able to take the word to calm things down a bit.

After incorrect reports that we’re looking to introduce “TV-style” ads into our games, we wanted to clarify the situation and point out that advertising in console games is not something we’re currently reviewing or have signed agreements to implement.

The spokesperson concluded his statement by noting that EA’s priority remains ” Create the best possible gaming experience Which inevitably makes us smile when we see what happened to FIFA with the same mistakes that still exist year after year. The best player experience is clearly absent in this title.

Here again, an EA spokesperson specifies that this is not on the agenda on consoles. It does not set on the computer and does not close the door to possible access later. In short, we can feel flattered right now, but sooner or later we shouldn’t be surprised to see this initiative go downhill.
