12 childcare places will be offered as a priority to workers at the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center in the Capitale-Nationale region thanks to the Ministry of Education’s acceptance of the community childcare service pilot project.
Places are available from Monday to Friday. These are places with a reduced contribution. The two organizations hope that the incubation service will begin its activities in the summer of 2023.
They will allow many healthcare workers in Charlevoix-Est to return to work after maternity leave that they had to extend due to a lack of childcare spaces.
The daycare service will be run by two Partner Daycare Managers (RSGE), who will each have six children under their supervision, in one living space.
This space will make it possible to maintain the main advantages of childcare in a family environment, thus providing a friendly and stable environment, consisting of children of different ages and reminding them of their living environment, according to the press release from CPE Gables on the street.
CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale provides the space required for the provision of childcare services, within its facility located in La Malbaie, at CHSLD Bellerive. In addition, the facilities will be set up outside to allow the full development of the children.
This multigenerational proximity will have many benefits, for both children and the elderly, who will be able to share certain activities, estimates the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale.
The Coordination Office at CPE Pignons sur rue is currently in a period of consideration to appoint two people who will be involved in the operation of this new daycare service.
